Jewelry & Wares Care

SPOON CARE:

  1. Avoid Heat. Brass spoons do not fair well in hot applications. However, they are perfect for dry and cold uses like scooping coffee, spices, honey, or fishing an olive out of that hard to reach jar

  2. Hand wash with warm water and mild soap. Dry immediately.

  3. Periodic polishing with food grade wax will help keep its color and protect it

  4. Note: brass easily tarnishes. Discoloration is normal and to be expected, but can be removed with a polishing cloth

JEWELRY CARE:

Like all handmade jewelry, my pieces should not be exposed to moisture (bathing, swimming, humidity, etc), chemicals, oils (this includes makeup, hair products, etc) or strenuous activities, and should be properly taken care of to maintain their integrity and longevity.

Each jewelry order comes with a complimentary polishing cloth.

Brass
Raw brass naturally oxidizes and tarnishes faster than other metals.  Each brass piece has been treated with Renaissance Wax, a polishing agent that helps preserve the brass's bright color and prevent oxidation (when your skin turns green.). This agent wears off over time, so periodic polishing and reapplication is recommended if you want to keep the same look.  Some people like the look of aged brass, so it's all about preference!

Gold
Gold filled and gold vermeil jewelry can be cleaned with a quick swipe of a polishing cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and strenuous activities to protect the longevity of the gold.

Silver
Sterling silver will tarnish over time and can easily be brought back to its original luster with a proper polishing rag. Please note that any polishing will not only remove the natural oxidation, but the patina that has been applied in order to accentuate the details.

Artwork Care
For prints, used a soft dry cloth to remove any dust.

For original paintings, use a soft dry cloth to remove any dust from painting or frame.
